Dropping-off and Collecting Children

At Millbrook, we are keen to encourage parents/carers to come into the playground, where the Headteacher or other senior staff may be found for an informal chat. We hope to build up a close relationship between home and school and we want to have good links with all parents and carers.

We would ask that parents speak to staff about any issues or concerns at the end of the school day, to avoid a late start to lessons. Our staff are all happy to help and ready to listen.

If for any reason parents find that they will be delayed, or if another person will be collecting a child, it would be helpful for the office to know, so that a message can be passed on. Parents/carers of younger pupils use a password system when another person is collecting their child/ren.

There is no supervision for children before 8:40 when the school gates are opened. The school cannot take responsibility for children who arrive before this time.

Parents should leave the playgrounds promptly in the mornings as the gates are locked for site security at 9:10. Any parent in school after this time should sign in at the office and collect a badge.

When collecting children at the end of the day parents are asked to wait on the playground. Please note that the play apparatus should not be used by children unless a member of staff is supervising them.

Late Arrivals

Punctuality is expected but it is better to arrive late than miss school. Late arrivals should report to the School Office.

Travelling to School

Millbrook School is proud of its Enhanced Healthy Schools status and we are keen to encourage children to walk, cycle or scoot to school wherever possible.

The school provides cycle/scooter shelters and racks and children in Year 6 have access to cycling proficiency training.

We would ask parents/carers who do need to travel to school by car to park with care and with consideration for our neighbours.
