Vale Tag Rugby Competition

Last term, seven children in Year 5 competed in the Vale Tag Rugby competition and came 1st! All of the children thoroughly enjoyed the event and played some really good rugby, plus demonstrating our Millbrook values of co-operation and respect. I would like to also thank Chris Dowling, the PE specialist from King Alfred’s, who had been working alongside this year group leading up to this event. His work with us definitely did not go unnoticed and helped the children to be extremely successful in this event! So a huge well done to the following children: Oliver C, Josh , Elisha P, Charlie S, Josh A, Logan R, Luke C and Emma C, Lily B, Lauren P, Grace G and James C. These children are going through to the next round which is ‘The Chairman’s Cup’ that is taking place in May, where they will be competing against any Primary school in Oxfordshire. This is a fantastic achievement and we wish this team all the very best!

Wantage Cluster Swimming Competition

Earlier on in the term, eight children from Years  5 and 6 competed in a swimming competition against other schools in Oxfordshire. Both teams, the girls and the boys team, swam very well and all of them swam both strokes they enjoyed, but also strokes that they found a challenge! Overall, the Boys team came 5th (Frazer D, Jamie B, Oliver C and Charlie S) and the Girls team came 2nd (Erin M, Lauren P, Eliza H and Mally B). The girls team, made it through to the next round which was the Vale round, held at Radley. The girls swam exceptionally well and came a very well deserved 5th out of the ten teams that competed. So a huge well done to Erin M, Lauren P, Eliza H and Jessica B for this fantastic achievement!
